QuB (pronounced "cube"), is a three-piece,
multi-dimensional musical entity. When did we start? Hard
to define. This time around, it was late 2003. Originally,
it was January 1975 in wintry northern Ohio that Meredyth
Carpenter and JT Jones teamed up with Ken Williams in
a very obvious God-orchestrated union. We knew without
question that God had called us to music ministry. We
were known then as JUBAL (Genesis 4:21).
During the next several years, the Holy Spirit
gave us music, lyrics, ideas and arrangements. We ministered
at the first re-organized Ichthus Festival in Kentucky,
did numerous concerts with Resurrection Band, and Selah
(from Cedarville Bible College in Ohio); we had opportunities
to perform and minister beside Steve Camp, Honeytree,
the Talbot Brothers, Randy Matthews and Mike Warnke. We
had the privilege of being involved with the first CCM
Conference in Kansas City with DeGarmo & Key, Keith
Green and Barry McGuire.
We presented our music at coffeehouses and
outdoor concerts, prisons and churches, colleges and Air
Force bases, and even the Paul Bunyan Festival! From Michigan
to Florida, Cedar Rapids to Hicksville (really!): wherever
the Lord needed us to be.
We played our last concert in 1978 opening
for Larry Norman, and went our separate ways. But God
had other plans.
One by one, we each moved to the Nashville,
Tennessee area, began talking about new music and rearrangements
of other songs and realized God wasn’t through with
us quite yet.
This CD, then, reflects what God has raised
up, again.
